Our Principles

Goa, a tiny state in Western India charms and attracts people from across the world. Dubbed as "Paradise on Earth", it’s a land where the sun, sea and sand are still fairly untouched by human greed. While “pieces of Heaven” across the globe have been ruined by over-kill, we believe we can keep Goa unspoilt and beautiful. A love for nature and respect for the land’s culture and history are the first steps towards maintaining its charm and allure. Towards this end, we’ve developed a policy of accepting event information for our website. While we encourage establishments that have events to attract tourists, to appear freely at our site, we do not accept information from or of establishments that are in any way violating laws that protect natural, cultural or historical environments or indulging in illegal activities.

Our History

The idea for FinDoll Communications & Publications was conceived on August 15, 1993 at Mae De Deus Church in Saligao. A very symbolic moment for us in a church with beautiful neo-Gothic architecture. While Michael and Tomoko Lobo waited for the mass on the Feast of Assumption, the idea slowly grew....

Michael and Tomoko came to Goa and started to live in their ancestral house in January 1993. Fascinated by the beauty of the land, stayed on, looking for a new opportunity and new direction for their lives.

Findoll Communications and Publications then and FindAll-Goa and every endeavour in between have been a result of their own experiences and dreams as they carved a life on this landscape.

Tomoko (a Japanese national) did not know Konkani (Goa's local language) and started taking lessons from a village girl. Since she did not find a book that could teach her Konkani they decided to put one together themselves. And so Speak Konkani and Have Fun was born!

Next came the town maps. As they tried to find their way around, they realized how difficult it was to find anything in Goa. Ask a local person for direction to a restaurant and he’ll go out of his way to guide you thus: "go straight and then turn right at the chapel then turn left…" Soon you’ll find several chapels and innumerable crosses which lurk at every corner in Goa but never find the restaurant you started looking for!!
Michael & Tomoko set out to research and put together not only chapels and crosses, but restaurants, street names and shops and establishments and other landmarks on a map. Today, FinDoll Communication & Publication produces the most comprehensive maps of Goa and even undertakes work for Goa Tourism.

Three years later in 1996, FinDoll Communication & Publication launched Goa's first and only property guide "Homes & Estates". Until they entered the market, it had been a kind of culture in India that a seller did not disclose the selling price of his property in public or in the media. Home s & Estates not only mentioned the price of the properties they were selling, but went a step further to provide current property rates in individual areas (talukas) of Goa.

In 2004, after almost a year of collating data and organizing material, the company launched FindAll-Goa – Goa's entertainment guide. Distributing 10,000 copies free every month, we developed a small but firm footprint on the event map of Goa. The idea quickly gathered momentum, and now Goa Tourism has also started assisting us by distributing magazine at airports and government offices. One year later and we included the free maps of Goa in the package as well.

Launching an easy-to-use online guide to Goa has been a long-awaited dream. We hope you find it as useful as we think it should be. Meanwhile we’ll continue to bring more ideas to life. But this time, not from the needs, and dreams of just two people sitting in a church and plotting a life, but from the hopes and aspirations of 35 people, all bound by the same driving need: Goa!
